various low carbon alternatives;

conditions, such as flood control, soil erosion control,
decontamination and containment of contamination;
- helping customers to make informed choices by providing
calculations to show the relative carbon footprints of alternative
techniques; and
- adopting sustainable sourcing practices and providing enhanced
product information relating to material content and
sources.
In our operations, we seek to reduce our environmental
impacts and to eliminate environmental incidents by:
- identifying, assessing and controlling environmental risks at
our job sites and premises;

regular structured inspections;
- a commitment to the prevention of pollution;
- complying with all relevant environmental legislation and
regulation and, as far as is practicable, industry codes of
practice and guidelines;
- continually improving by the setting of objectives and targets
for improvement; and
- creating opportunities to: (i) reduce our consumption of
energy, water and high carbon content materials; and (ii) minimise
our waste and harmful emissions.
In all our activities, we seek progressively to improve our
environmental performance by:
- increasing employee awareness of the environmental impacts of
their activities through training and ensuring that they know how
to operate responsibly;
- encouraging innovation and the sharing and adoption of best
practice amongst our employees;
- engaging with our key suppliers to support our energy
efficiency and waste reduction goals; and
- working with industry bodies to encourage greater reference to
sustainability in codes and standards relating to foundation

performance of the operating companies. Our Senior Managers are
accountable for delivering environmental performance. They fully
