Trading statement - site visit

Keller Group plc, the global construction services group, is today hosting a site visit to a number of its UK operations. The visit encompasses tours of some current contracts being undertaken by both its Foundation Services and Specialist Services businesses that have established strong track records in recent years of profit growth and cash generation. In addition, presentations will also be made by the senior management team.

During the visit, Tom Dobson, Chief Executive, will confirm that current trading continues to be in line with that indicated at the time of the Group’s interim results announced on 22 August 2002, with the order book ahead of the previous year’s exceptional level, demonstrating good organic growth, and with tender levels remaining strong. In light of current trading and the opportunities facing the Group, the Board remains confident that the results for the full year will be good.

The presentations will focus on the sources of future organic growth; within Foundation Services this is being driven by the need for conservation, site rehabilitation (including brownfield) and environmental protection, for which Keller can offer complete enablement solutions. Within Specialist Services the main drivers are increased spend on social housing, car parking and other infrastructure work where Keller’s competitive edge is based on the strong culture of teamwork, safety and customer care within its Makers’ operation.

In both businesses, the emphasis on developing strong client relationships through negotiated contracts as preferred supplier and/or partnering arrangements and framework contracts continues to be a key component in Keller’s success.

Tom Dobson, Keller Chief Executive said:

“We continue to demonstrate the Group’s inherent strengths and highlight our ability to create and exploit growth opportunities. We look forward to the future with confidence.”
