Wet Soil Mixing

Wet Soil Mixing involves the introduction of cementitious grout directly into the ground through the use of purpose built tools, typically at 1.5m diameter. The system is designed to achieve reduced permeability and/or increased strength within the soil mass.

Through the insitu mixing of cement grout directly into soil, Keller's Soil Mixing systems can provide permeabilities reduced to 1 x 10-9m/s* and increased soil strengths up to 350KN/m2. *dependent upon soil type.

Soil Strengthening

Soil Mixing can improve the engineering performance of soft cohesive deposits, expansive clays, loose granular soils and pulverised fuel ash (PFA) lagoons through the direct blending of cementitious grout.

Contaminated Soil

Containment Walls - Soil Mixing can be used to form highly efficient cut off walls within or around contaminated sites without needing to dispose of large volumes of contaminated spoil.

Encapsulation - Soil Mixing eliminates the need to excavate and remove contaminated soil off site by encapsulating the material through total mixing to form a homogeneous low permeability soil block or a cellular sealing system.

Temporary Works

Earth retention and ground water control can be achieved through the use of Soil Mixing techniques to provide high levels of performance with a minimum of noise or disruption during installation.

Typical costs of Wet Soil Mixing range from £70-90 per m2 depending on the treatment depth.
