Darlaston King Post Wall

For this £1.0million scheme, Keller installed 70No. King Posts to allow the installation of 122 linear m of 3.0m (Max.) retained height King Post Wall. The scheme was required for a road realignment scheme in Darlaston for Walsall District Council. The works were undertaken adjacent to a busy road in limited working area. All works were completed to the required specification in the agreed programme duration. Keller provided a full package for the scheme comprising; the setting out and installation of the guide wall, boring and plunging the Posts using CFA boring techniques and finally the Panel installation.

Due to the tight installation tolerances required, Keller developed and fabricated bespoke frames for the scheme. These frames were successfully deployed for the works to allow installation of the  beams to the specified tolerances. One of the key risks was which was identifed and successfully managed during the project, was the limited working space available at the site.
