Keller are looking for a Works Manager to work nationwide and support our Geotechnique division.

Helical Piling experience is essential.

The purpose of this role is to effectively manage projects, particularly those larger and more complex schemes in particular helical pile installation. These may involve the various branches of Keller UK and be multidisciplinary in nature.

The role will also focus on improving our construction processes in terms of safety, quality and productivity.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Operations

The Works Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project, including the leadership of the site team.

To plan and direct the site’s activities to achieve the agreed targets and standards.

To setup and manage all helical pile operations including onsite activities.

The Works Manager shall be able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and experience in the helical piling method as well as other geotechnical operations

Customer

Project delivery shall meet (or exceed) the client’s expectations and the Works
Manager shall provide the best customer service. In addition the Works Manager will encourage and promote cross and joint selling with other Keller UK branches.

Where possible the Works Manager shall assist in bid presentation & preparation for helical pile projects and seek new clients for potential new work.

People

Safety is to take priority over every other issue. The Works Manager will promote and enforce the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environmental awareness.

Ultimately responsible for quality on site and where necessary will seek assistance from the central HSEQ team.

Carry out performance and development reviews with the workforce and identify, and where possible, deliver training and development needs across the branch.

Work to and actively promote “The Keller Way”.

Finance

Be accountable for cost control on the project and be aware of the financial
consequences of managing the works.

Compile sufficient records and notifications to protect the Company’s commercial
position.

Assist the estimator in bidding for helical projects.

Experience/Skills/Qualifications/Personal Attributes

Minimum
Proven experience construction, geotechnical, civil engineering, building
environment in particular helical pile setup & installation methods.

CPCS Slinger/Signaller.

CPCS Crane Lift Supervisor.

CSCS Gold Card/NVQ Level 3

SMSTS.

First Aider.

Proven experience in a supervisory role managing geotechnical works.

IT Literate, Excel, Word.

Full UK driving licence.

A good level of numeracy, analytical by nature and a problem solver.

Customer focused and ability to negotiate.

 

Desirable

CPCS Appointed Person.

CPCS Telehandler Operator.

CPCS Rig Operator (Excavator & Helical Pile Installation).

Proven ability to develop the business.

Process improvement training.

 

Personal Attributes

Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels.

Excellent problem solving skills.

Flexibility to be able to carry-out duties not part of the normal remit in the interests
of the team.

Ability to meet deadlines and targets.

Managerial courage and excellent leadership abilities, able to motivate and build
teams, driving performance for results.

Commercially astute.

Ability to operate under pressure.

Ability to manage own workload and react to changing demands
