Keller are looking to recruit an experienced Yard Supervisor for our Plant based in Ryton On Dunsmore, Coventry. The successful candidate must be a qualified Mobile Crane Operator. If you feel that you match the below job description please apply now

Reports To

Plant Manager

 

Purpose of the Role

To take responsibility on site for organising the day to day Yard activities including managing labour and plant resources working and planning operations with the Site Services Coordinator and to ensure records and activities are logged in accordance with company procedure.

Co-ordination of yard labour and effective usage of the yard areas and facilities. To motivate an effective and safety conscious workforce.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

 

Operations

Safe management of operational activities including supervision of crane lifts within the yard when loading/unloading plant or equipment from/to site.

Maintain operational records for yard plant.

Ensure that all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures are maintained.

Effectively liaise and manage operational interfaces and monitor performance.

Organise and assist Storeman with refurbishment of second hand drilling equipment in liaison with the Site Services Coordinator.

Control of loading/unloading activities.

Organising the logistics in liaison with the Site Services Coordinator.

Co-ordination and liaison with colleagues within the Site Services Team.

Organise yard housekeeping in liaison with Site Services Coordinator.

Co-ordinate/liaise with the Site Services Coordinator for movement of internal plant: shot blasting, paint spraying, loading, unloading etc.

Co-ordinate/liaise with Site Services Coordinator to ensure timely loading and unloading and subsequent timely delivery of plant and equipment to and from site.

Co-ordinate/liaise with Storeman to ensure timely loading and unloading and subsequent timely delivery of stores items and equipment to and from site.

Ensure suitable weekend cover is arranged for when sites may require items and /or access to the yard.

Assess returns of drilling equipment from site to establish whether refurbishment of the kit is possible.

Ensure excess materials delivered back from site are accounted for and made available for other contracts use.

 

Customer

Co-ordination and liaison with site personnel to ensure any requirements for additional equipment from the yard are met.

 

People

Conduct annual performance development reviews.

Work to and actively promote “The Keller Way”.

Finance

Experience/Skills/Qualifications/Personal Attributes

 

Minimum

Team Player and ability to motivate others.

Site/Yard Supervisory experience.

Full UK Driving licence.

Trained lift supervisor.

Flexible and adaptable.

CPCS Crane Supervisor - Lifting Operations (Red Card).

CPCS Mobile Crane - All Duties (Red Card).

CPCS Slinger/Signaller - All Types - All Duties (Red Card)

 

Desirable

Ability to use IT equipment and programs.

First Aider.

CPCS Crane Supervisor - Lifting Operations (Blue Card).

CPCS Mobile Crane - All Duties (Blue Card)

CPCS Slinger/Signaller - All Types - All duties (Blue Card).

 

Personal Attributes

Team player.

Self-sufficient, requiring only remote support

Flexible, to be able to carry-out duties not part of the normal remit in the interests of the team.

Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise.
