Megan, who rejoined Keller in May 2017, was previously one of our CFA estimators but will now combine that role with estimating rigid inclusions jobs.
Rigid inclusions is a ground improvement method developed by Keller colleagues in France and Germany that sits between vibro stone columns and piling. It uses high deformation modulus columns constructed through compressible soils to reduce settlement and increase bearing capacity.
Keller is the only UK piling company offering this technique.
“Rigid Inclusions are a fantastic cost-effective technique that is relatively new to the UK,” said Megan, who first joined Keller as a summer placement student in 2010.
“It offers an efficient way of reducing settlement and increasing bearing capacity of the treated soil, all while keeping spoil to a minimum. It can be used for most types of structures and soil types and allows the use of shallow foundations.
“I’m looking forward to introducing it to our customers.”
